Marie-Amélie Le Fur is a great sportswoman. She has been doing athletics since she was 6 years old and has a dream : to become a firefighter. Unfortunately, on March 31, 2004 Marie-Amélie suffered a serious scooter accident which deprived her of the use of her leg. Her leg was then amputated below the knee and she had to give up her dream of becoming a professional firefighter. She therefore took a 4 month break from her sports career and returned on July 31, 2004 to start running again. She will then take part in numerous sports competitions and will take part in T44 events. In her record, she holds eight medals at the Paralympic Games. 2 silver medals at the Beijing games, 3 medals at the London games and 3 medals, including 2 gold, during the Rio edition. It is also completed by twelve world medals and four titles of champion.
She is an incredible athlete because even if she was forced to give up her dream, she continued to believe in herself. She is proud of herself and she is inspiring for everyone.
